Hi! I'm Heather. I am a writer and photographer living in the woods just outside of Thunder Bay, Ontario.

I consider myself a storyteller, both with words and images, and have been doing this work for many years.

My main focus for my photographic work is nature, which you will see on this website. I have always felt most at home in the natural world and love using my camera to slow down, explore its nuances, and become present in those often fleeting moments.

As an animal lover, I have turned my camera to pet photography in the past, specializing in action and candid shots. I have also dabbled a little in portraiture and spent a few years doing photo-journalism as well.

For as long as I can remember I have always loved stories and, through writing and photography, I have been honoured to share the stories of others as a journalist, working with magazines and newspapers over the last two decades, as well as my own stories through personal writing that you can find online at Three Dogs and a Couch as well as in my book The Comeback Cat.
